To the West of Loreto, B.C.S lies La Sierra de la Giganta (Mountians of Giant Women). Take a Day Tour with Loreto Sea and Land to explore slot canyons with year round water, or take in beautiful vistas of the Sea of Cortez.

Variety of Trails

If you have been doing your online research for sure you have read about hikes near Loreto such as Tabor Canyon, Mesquite Canyon, Las Parras, or the hike to the cave paintings of Canipole. There is so much mis-information out there it is scary. Contact us and depending on ability, time of year and accessibility, we can determine where would be the most fun for you and your group to explore.

Professional Guides

All of our guides are well trained in desert flora, fauna. They can show you where to find the hummingbirds and how to identify various plants and their uses. They also are great at assisting folks over the rivers and through the ... desert.

Safety First

Most of our hikes are a combination of trail hiking and then following various arroyos (dry river beds). They often require scrambling, hoping from one rock to another, etc. If this is beyond your ability please let us know so that we can suggest an appropriate trip for you and your companions

Trip Itinerary

Please note that trip times vary depending on the time of year. Tours normally operate October-May. If you are here in the summer and would like to do a hike, please contact us however be ready for a 5:30am start time!!

8:00 AM - Meet in Loreto
Meet at Sea and Land office location or if you are staying out of town we can make arrangements to pick you up at your hotel.
9:00 AM - Trail head
Most of our hikes are within a 45 minute drive from Loreto central district.
9 AM- 12:00 PM - Hiking
Exact times may vary depending on distance and activities during hike.
1-1:30pm Return to Loreto
Again times may vary

What to Bring

We provide lunch, drinks, and snacks, so you would just need to make sure you have the necessary personal items. You won't need much for your hike and will want your hands to stay free. Water bottles (individual or one we provide), good shoes (Chacos, tennis shoes, are fine), sunglasses, hat, bathing suit (for some, not all hikes), plastic bag to ensure electronics stay dry.
