It’s never 100% safe to swim with wild animals however we’ve never had an incident during our tours. Of course we keep a safe distance from their rocks and don’t try to pet them. Its wonderful to snorkel near their colony and watch them zoom by and play with eachother.
While we can find amazing creatures and have good dives year round, the ideal time for most folks is August-November. This is when the water is warm (80-85 F) and you can look far into clear blue sea.

THE FUN PART
Given that diving is an extreme sport, please be aware that currents, weather, visibility, and other conditions can change before or during each dive. Our guides can only judge each dive based on the current conditions for each site. Please follow the instructions in the dive briefing and be current with your certifications. If you are new to diving or it has been some time since you last dove, please let us know, and we can do a refresher course. We also need to see if you carry a current DAN card and appreciate a copy of this ahead of time. Should you have any medical conditions such as hypertension, arrhythmias, etc. Please be sure your doctor has cleared you for diving.
We carry oxygen kits with us on our dives, and the nearest Hyperbaric chamber to Loreto Baja California Sur is in either San Carlos BCS (2.5 hours) or Cabo San Lucas (6hrs), which is part of the SSS Recompression Chamber network.
